July 18, 2008 – 3:06 pm

Hey guys,

I’m very pleased to be able to say that I am now working on the final pieces of the game these being the Matra System, Monster Taming and the Quests.

I have found that I need to set a beta date as otherwise I keep adding more into the game. Sooo I intend to do my beta release on the 26th.

I’m greatly anticipating the release and will be eagerly awaiting feedback on the day.

Taming Monsters in Matraworld

July 15, 2008 – 10:37 am

Whats this you say?
You want to catch, tame and trade monsters?
Sure thing boss.

Within Matraworlds Matra system there will be special Matra that allow you to use new skills such as:

  • Trainer Skills Matra (Tame 1, Tame 2, Tame 3, Lure) - For obtaining Monsters.
  • Enemy Skills Matra (All Exclusive Skills that Monsters Use)
  • Call Skills Matra (Calls Wilderbeasts to battle with you)
  • Steal Matra (Allows Steal and Mug)
  • Dual Class Matra (Allow you to equip a second class worth of Skills you have already learnt)

With this dynamic system players will always have some strategic process to their Party allowing Strategy to Overcome straight out ‘in-game time’.

We will also have summons - More on that very soon.

Matra?

To Explain Matra…

The quickest way is the shortest and most absurd. - Its the Materia system from FFVII.

Final Fantasy VII introduces a new materia system: your weapons have different amounts of slots where you can equip various orbs (called “materia”). All magic spells must be learned by equipping materia, but there are also other types which enhance your spells, parameters, etc. By equipping different materia on different characters, you can customize them freely, without depending on character classes.

But along with this we have the Jobs system from FFT.

The game sports a job system which enables characters to access different abilities and skills, as well as unlock abilities that either help the player counterattack or enhance some other part of the character, like his move range or attack power. In the beginning of the game, the player only starts out with access to a paltry two classes. The only way to unlock the other, generally-more-powerful classes is to level up jobs you have access to via job points (which is earned with every non-movement-based action taken, such as a successful attack or magic casting), which in turn allow you access to stronger abilities and classes upon levelling them up, and so forth.

Pretty much that sum’s it up.
